As envisioned in the National Education Policy 2020, which is aligned with the global education development agenda reflected in the Goal 4 (SDG4) of the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development, CCRT has always emphasized on an education system deep rooted in Indian ethos and organized workshops for in-service teachers of schools from all parts of the country to propagate art education and to understand the importance of art in education.
“Cultural awareness and expression are among the major competencies considered important to develop in children, in order to provide them with a sense of identity, belonging, as well as an appreciation of other cultures and identities.
As a part of the thrust on experiential learning, art-integrated education will be embedded in classroom transactions not only for creating joyful classrooms, but also for imbibing the Indian ethos through integration of Indian art and culture in the teaching and learning process at every level. This art-integrated approach will strengthen the linkages between education and culture.”
–National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
