CCRT commemorated and celebrated the 120th birth anniversary of its founder and 1st chairperson, Smt. Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay, on April 3, 2023. Director CCRT, Sh. Rishi Vashist paid the rich tributes to her by lighting lamp and garlanding the recently unveiled statue of Kamaladevi ji alongwith Officers & Staff followed by floral tributes at the Regional Centres also. Shri Vashist CCRT highlighted the contribution of Kamaladevi ji in India’s Freedom Movement vis-a-vis Creation of several Cultural Institutions in post Independence Era by mentioning the fact that MoC has also dedicated 3 stories about her in it’s website www.amritmahotsav.nic.in
He further mentioned that Kamladevi ji received numerous accolades, including the Padma Bhushan in 1955, and the Padma Vibhushan in 1987 from the Government of India.She was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1966 for Community Leadership.
