Academic/Professional activities	Trained by eminent music teachers, Sudha earned her name as a Drupad, Khyal, Tarana, Thumri and Dadra specialist. Having performed at prestigious music festivals and music programmes including Swami Haridas Festival, Sangeet Sabha, Tansen Festival, NAB Mandal, Sankalp, Raag Rang. National Programme of Music, Delhi Doordarshan, Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, India International Centre, she has the distinction of being invited for review of research scholars meet (1983) by Allaudin Khan Academy, Bhopal. Her lecture-cum-demonstration programmes include at South Delhi Women’s Cultural Organisation, Egypt Embassy, New Delhi, Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, New Delhi. She has presented several papers at the music seminars and conferences which include papers on Current Trends in Hindustani Music and is working on Hindustani Sangeet ki Raag Sampada – a research project. Her major contribution to Bharatnatyam is adopting poems from Gujarat literature in Bharatnatyam dance form and having composed a full Bharatanatyam Margam in Gujarati. She has been Guest Lecturer in Indian Classical Dances at several Gujarat Educational Colleges and Institutions, which include H.K. College, S.V. Arts and Science College, St. Xavier’s College, Sir L A Shah Law College, Ahmedabad and J.J. College of Science & C.B. Patel Arts Institution, Nadiad. Academic/Professional activities	Trained in Bharatanatyam by several eminent Gurus, Geeta Chandran is a dance-bridge between the classical style of Bharatanatyam and the more contemporary dance aesthetic. She has constantly attempted to push the frontiers of the classical art and to reach out to new. She as a contemporary artiste has chosen to probe how the tenets of classical dance can be means of communicating issues of modern day contemporary concern. She has imbued her learning with her unique person which adds to her being a celebrity artiste among present generation of dancers. She has performed in several major dance festivals in the country and on invitations from abroad. She has choreographed several solo and group productions on present day issues which include: ‘Aval’ dealing with gender issue ‘Sivam’ on environmental sensitivity, ‘Pankh’ on women’s rights, and ‘Imaginating Peace’ on inter-religion harmony. Her dance-puppet collaboration ‘Her Voice’ is a path-breaking one in the genre and is on the theme futility of war and violence. The United Nations office for Drugs and Crime commissioned Geeta to choreograph the theme of International Day Against Drugs Abuse and Trafficking. Among her noteworthy thematic productions are : ‘Shringara Vaibhavam’, ‘Shiva Deeksha’, ‘Visions of Inner Peace’ Geeta is a Member of Advisory Council of a prominent College in Delhi University and Adjunct Professor, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
