The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) is implementing Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme (CTSSS) since 1982 at National level. The Scheme is aimed at providing facilities to outstanding talented children selected in the age group of 10 to 14 years studying either in recognised schools or belonging to families practising traditional performing arts for getting specialised training in various cultural fields such as traditional forms of music, dance, drama as well as painting, sculpture, crafts and literary activities. The value of scholarship is ₹ 3600/- per year for the scholarship holder, in addition to reimbursement of the actual tuition fee paid to the Guru/Teacher, up to a ceiling of ₹ 9000/- per year.
650 new scholarships are awarded every year, of which 100 are reserved for Tribal Culture (ST candidates), 125 for the children of families practising traditional arts, 20 for Divyang (Differently Abled) children and 30 scholarships are reserved for the students applying in the field of Creative Writing/Literary Arts. The remaining 375 scholarships will be treated as general scholarships.
Applications are invited in prescribed proforma by post through Advertisement in Employment news as well as leading newspapers of the States/UT’s in English, Hindi and Vernacular languages and the information of the same along with the application form are uploaded on CCRT’s as well MOC’s website i.e. www.ccrtindia.gov.in & www.indiaculture.gov.in.

For the short listing of candidates to be called for Interview/Test, the CCRT constitute a Central Selection Committee, whose decision shall be final. Only the shortlisted candidates will be informed by post about the dates, timings and venue of the Interviews/Tests which may be conducted at Regional level during the months of May-August of every year.
