Day long Workshop on ‘Collecting Stories under Digital District Repository (DDR) Project organised by CCRT under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ concluded successfully at Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark, Kolkata today on 9th January 2023

Organized in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture was attended by more than 100 professors, teachers, research students, CCRT Trained teachers and District Resource Persons.

The Digital District Repository (DDR) project is an attempt to discover and document 5000 stories of unsung heroes, events, places, hidden treasures and art traditions linked with the freedom movement of India at the micro level of the districts.

Shri S. C. Barmma, Advisor – Ministry of Culture provided detailed information about the need of documenting of stories with special reference to Unsung heroes and freedom fighters of West Bengal. Dr. Rahul Kumar, Deputy Director, CCRT has also informed the participants about how to write and identify the topics for stories. Shri Dev Taneja, Programme Executive, CCRT and Smt. Kumkum Mukherjee, DRP, CCRT have also shared their experiences of collecting stories for DDR Project.

Before that Swami Suparnananda ji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture highlighted the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and motivated the participants to contribute this project whole-heartedly.

The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants and ‘Vote of Thanks’ by Smt. Seema Dasgupta, DRP, CCRT.
