A workshop on collecting stories under Digital District Repository (DDR) Project was organized in collaboration with Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad in which more than 170 professors, teachers, research scholars, CCRT Trained teachers and District Resource Persons have participated.

The Digital District Repository (DDR) project is an attempt to discover and document 5000 stories of unsung heroes, events, places, hidden treasures and art traditions linked with the freedom movement of India at the micro level of the districts.

The workshop began with lighting of lamp followed by Sarv Dharm Prarthana. Shri Rishi Vashist, Director, CCRT explained the objectives of the workshop and DDR Project during his welcome address. Vice-chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith also informed the participants about the purpose of this collaborative workshop. Soon after the Director, CCRT and Registrar, Gujarat Vidyapith Prof. Nikhil Bhatt signed a formal MoU to work collectively for the noble cause.

Chairman, CCRT Dr. Vinod Narayan Indurkar also motivated the participants during his concluding remarks.

Participants observed silence for 2 minutes to commemorate the Martyrs’ Day before the workshop started formally. There after the workshop began with the lecture demonstration by Shri SC Barmaa, Advisor, Ministry of Culture. Professor Adhya Bharti has described the events of freedom struggle, efforts and sacrifices in various places of Gujarat. She gave deep understanding to participants about extensive academic exercise of writing stories. Dr. Rahul Kumar, Deputy Director, CCRT has also narrated the participants about how to write and identify the topics for stories. Smt. Anitaben Patel, DRP, CCRT has also shared her experiences about collecting stories for DDR Project.

The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants and Vote of Thanks.
