Collecting Stories under Digital District Repository (DDR) Project of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav concluded successfully at KISS Campus Day 2

Centre for Cultural Resources & Training (CCRT) has organized a two (02) days’ workshop on ‘Collecting Stories under Digital District Repository (DDR) Project’ in collaboration with Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar, Odisha on January 5-6, 2023 and at KISS Campus, Bhubaneswar.

The Digital District Repository (DDR) project is an attempt to discover and document 5000 stories of unsung heroes, events, and places linked to the freedom movement of India at the micro level of the districts.

The aim and objectives of this workshop was to discuss the methodology for documenting the stories under DDR Project in different categories and to identify the districts of Odisha and to prioritize them for documentation under DDR Project.

Shri S. C. Barmma, Advisor – Ministry of Culture and Prof. Upendra Padhi, Director, Institute of Media Studies, Utkal University provided detailed information about the need of documenting of stories with special reference to Unsung heroes and freedom fighters of Odisha.

The important part of the workshop was that CCRT, KIIT and KISS has signed an MOU in the gracious presence of Shri Satya Sunder Tripathi, Chancellor, KISS to work together for Digital District Repository Project. Apart of DDR Project Shri Rishi Vashist, Director, CCRT has declared that CCRT will reserve a particular number of seats in CCRT’s Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme for KISS tribal Students.

He also emphasized the need of ‘Tridhara’ (Symbolising the confluence of three institutions) for the all-round development of the tribal students studying in KISS. He gave the participants a target of collecting 1111 stories from Odisha state in next three months.

Shri Satya Sunder Tripathi, Chancellor, KISS narrates about the importance of KISS DU. He also explained the bond between CCRT and KISS. He explained the slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and needs to empowering the weaker section of our society.

Dr. Vinod Naryan Indurkar, Chairman, CCRT emphasized the value of art and culture. He informed that CCRT is doing MOUs with various universities to promote and propagate art and culture in the society.

Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice Chancellor has communicated that KIIT and KISS keep on doing experiments in their institutes using various art forms. He thanked CCRT to be with them where standard 1st to PHD students come to study from all over the world. He complimented CCRT for initiating their projects with them.

The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants and ‘Vote Of Thanks’ by Dr. Rahul Kumar, Deputy Director CCRT.
