Festival on ‘Unity in Diversity’ for Scholarship Holders
The main objective of these festivals is to create an understanding of the aesthetic and cultural values in order to
appreciate and understand the creative expressions of mankind through the ages and promote experience of beauty
through sensory perceptions. In the Festivals, special efforts are made to involve the youth in cultural development, to
inculcate in them a spirit of harmony and togetherness and to channelize youthful energy in creative and productive pursuit.
The students interact with eminent Gurus and scholars and practice under them to give a synchronized presentation during the
Festival. They are also taken on educational tours to places of cultural and natural importance during these programmes to
show how nature has inspired the creative genius of the visual artist, poet, musician or dancer and to motivate them for making
efforts to conserve our heritage at regional levels.

A Workshop titled “Enhancing the Teaching Skills and Curriculum Development of Chhau Dance” was organzed in collaboration
with State Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Bhubaneshwar from October 10 to 15, 2011 in which 61 gurus alongwith their students/
scholarship holders associated with Seraikella, Purulia and Mayurbhanj Chhau dances in the state of Jharkhand, West Bengal
and Odisha participated.
Another Workshop on “Enhancing the Teaching Skills and Curriculum Development of Traditional Folk and Indigenous Art forms
and Theatre“ was organized from February 1 to 5, 2012 at Shilpagram, Khajuraho in collaboration with South Central Zone
Cultural Centre (SCZCC) in which 16 gurus/teachers from different states of India participated.
