ANNUAL REPORT 2015-16 and bring a uniformity in imparting the training under the CTSS Scheme, all over the country 5 days long Workshops/Seminars
In order to enable the Gurus/Teachers of scholarship-holders to share knowledge of their creative educational skills with others
are conducted in different parts of the country.
A Workshop-cum-Seminar on “Enhancing the Teaching Skills and Curriculum Development of Hindustani Classical Music Vocal
was held from February 22 to 26, 2016 at New Delhi in which 35 Gurus from 17 States/UTs participated.
Scheme of “Award of Scholarships to Young Artistes (SYA) in different Cultural
fields”
The Scheme for "Award of Scholarships to Young Artistes (SYA) in different Cultural fields" have also been transferred to CCRT
under which 400 Scholarships are provided in the age group of 18 to 25 years in the field of Indian Classical Music, Classical
Dances, Light Classical Music, Theatre, Visual Arts and Folk/Traditional and Indigenous Arts. Each scholar is paid ` 5000/- per
month for a period of two years to cover his/her living expenses on travelling, books, art material or other equipment and tuition
or training charges etc. 858 applications were received online for the year 2014-15 and all the applicants were invited for
Interviews/Tests at Delhi. 377 applicants appeared in the Interviews/Tests and 212 of them, have been awarded Scholarships on
the basis of recommendations by Expert Member Committees, constituted by Ministry of Culture.
Fellowship Scheme for the “Award of Fellowship to outstanding persons in the
Field of Culture”.
The Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India also transferred its scheme titled “The Fellowship Scheme for the Award of Fellowship to
outstanding persons in the Field of Culture” in the month of August 2014 to CCRT. Under this Scheme 200 Junior and Senior
Fellows each are selected. Awardees are paid grant money @ `10000/- and ` 20000/- per month respectively for a period of
two years. The focus is on “in-depth study/research” in various facets of culture. These include new emerging areas of Cultural
Studies. 95 candidates were selected for Junior Fellowship and 82 candidates were selected for Senior Fellowship for the year
2013-14.
